MARICE is a collaborative initiative between Lehigh University's Industrial Assessment Center and West Virginia University's Industrial Training and Assessment Center (WVU-ITAC), supported by the U.S. Department of Energy. This program aims to enhance, improve, and expand the ITAC Program across the country, with a focus on promoting energy efficiency and sustainability in manufacturing.
Objectives
- Enhance and expand the ITAC Program through regional hubs.
- Train clean energy workers and support small- and medium-sized manufacturing facilities.
- Promote energy efficiency and management efforts.Create pathways to high-quality jobs with the choice to join a union.
- Reduce industrial emissions and enhance American manufacturing competitiveness in a net-zero economy.
Funding
- The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law invests $550 million to expand the ITAC Program.
- Five new Regional Centers of Excellence, including MARICE, have been competitively selected.
- MARICE has received $3.75 million in funding split evenly over five years between WVU ITAC and Lehigh University.
